Late last night, October 27th, 2020, we got the phone call we had been dreading. Laura's beloved Grandma was called Home.
Granny was a lot of things; she was tough, but kind, loving, an amazing Grandmother, an even more amazing Great Grandmother. I don't know if anyone had a bad word to say about her.
While I don't remember the exact date of the first time I met Granny, I remember feeling instantly connected to her. Laura's Mom shared some things with me at dinner of what might happened if I ever hurt Laura; Granny told me not to worry about it, that I was a good person and that she was excited to have me as part of the family.
From that day on, we did everything we could to have Grandma around. She moved in with us fully when we got our rental house in Rio Rancho, then after we got settled in to our new house, she moved in with us again.
She helped make our house a home. When me or Laura was feeling sick, she took care of us. She helped our boys with school.
She leaves our house with a hole that I don't know we can fill.
I love you Grandma. I miss you.
(edit: her date of passing was actually the 28th of October)
Rest in Peace, Petrita.
